Director/Clinical Psychologist
Matilda Xavier is dedicated to helping children, adolescents and adults experiencing psychological issues. Her orientation is mainly psychodynamic and CBT but she also uses creative therapy when emotions and thoughts are too difficult to express with words. She believes in providing effective and individualized treatment for each of her clients. She works with people from all walks of life and in a variety of settings. She is an effective motivator and has strong interpersonal and organizational skill. She had the innate ability to establish rapport quickly, build trust and work with all types of personalities and situations to resolve issues and achieve challenging goals.
She is an adjunct lecturer and a clinical supervisor. She conducts talks and workshops on mental health. In addition, she is a well-known author of children’s and English-language school books. She has more than 30 years of industrial and academic experience.
Humanitarian Work:
Matilda is actively involved in psychosocial work for refugees and trafficked victims, and has worked with Medecins Sans Frontiéres (Doctors Without Borders), the International Organization of Migration, UNHCR, and Kumpulan ACTS.
